CBM 25 R Block Machine with Stacking Robot – Installation in Mali

Project

About the project

At this plant in Mali we installed the R version of our semi-automatic CBM 25 block and paver machine. The "R" means the line comes with a pallet stacking robot: the robot stacks the pallets of fresh blocks leaving the machine on top of each other, so no workers are needed to carry pallets one by one. Compared with the same line without the robot, the CBM 25 R runs with 7–8 fewer workers on average.

CBM 25 vs CBM 25 R

Both models use the same press, the same moulds and have the same output. The difference starts once the blocks leave the machine.

Less manual handling also means less risk of damaging fresh blocks on the way to curing, and a steadier production flow.

The installation in photos

  1. The machine body and robot units were lifted onto site with a truck-mounted crane and aligned on the concrete floor.
  2. Material prepared in the mixer travels up inclined belt conveyors to the machine's two hoppers; the second hopper lays the fine top layer for coloured pavers.
  3. The stacking unit in front of the machine takes the pallets leaving the press and stacks them; the photo from the first production shows two pallets of fresh blocks stacked.
  4. Our team completed installation and commissioning and trained the customer's operators in production, mould changes and daily maintenance.

Capacity

The CBM 25 R runs 100–120 pallet cycles an hour on 95 x 115 cm wooden pallets. Per cycle it produces 10 blocks of 20 cm (about 10,000 a day), 12 blocks of 15 cm (12,000), 18 blocks of 10 cm (18,000), 25 pavers (about 500 m² a day) or 3 kerbstones (3,000). Changing the product only takes a mould change.

Which one is right for you?

For a plant starting small where labour is cheap, the CBM 25 without the robot is enough. If labour is expensive or the plant will run at full output every day, the labour saved by the CBM 25 R makes the difference. For fully automatic production there are also the CBM 25 PRO and CBM 36 PRO lines. Our BLOCKMASTER 8 installation in Mali shows another capacity option in the same country.
