BLOCKMASTER 4 Block Making Machine Installation – Conakry, Guinea

This plant in Conakry was laid out so that block production runs under one roof in an orderly flow from start to finish: the concrete mix reaches the hopper of the BLOCKMASTER 4 block making machine on a belt conveyor, and freshly moulded blocks go to the curing area on a pallet trolley. Our team commissioned the machine on site in Conakry, the capital and main port of Guinea, and the customer's operators ran the first production together with our team.

How the plant works

1. Feeding: The prepared concrete mix is carried to the machine's hopper by a belt conveyor.
2. Moulding: The BLOCKMASTER 4 compacts the mix in the mould with vibration and hydraulic pressure; each cycle fills one 90 x 60 cm wooden pallet.
3. Handling: The fresh blocks are taken from the front of the machine on a pallet trolley.
4. Curing and storage: The blocks harden and are stacked in a concrete-floored curing area.

By changing the mould, the same machine also makes curbstones, hollow floor blocks and plain paving stones. It runs at 100–120 pallets per hour; the bottom vibration motors are 2 x 5.5 kW and the hydraulic motor is 7.5 kW.

Start small, grow later

The BLOCKMASTER 4 is the most compact machine in our semi-automatic range. Its small footprint and single hopper let an investor new to block production learn the business while building a market. When orders grow, the same plant can be expanded with a BLOCKMASTER 8, a BLOCKMASTER 10 or a double-hopper CBM machine.
